Hydro-electricity and what makes it cleaner
Hydro-electricity uses the natural power of water so no CO2 is produced in the process. We are the largest supplier of hydro-electricity into the National Grid.

Of course we can’t guarantee to match any specific generation to any specific house, but we do guarantee that for every unit of electricity used by every power2 customer we’ll put a unit of hydro-electricity into the system.

.....and we’ll plant trees
If you use gas for heating and water heating then CO2 emissions are inevitable. We can’t stop that but we’ll reduce your impact by planting trees each year.

It’s common knowledge that trees absorb CO2 as part of their growing process. The number and type of trees we plant varies according to where we plant them but as an indicator we will raise 5 trees each year for each customer. This quantity is in line with our aim to get as close as possible to offsetting the average power2 customer’s household CO2 emissions.

And as a further commitment on your behalf, we’ll raise another tree each year to reduce the effects of harmful greenhouse gases released by the disposal of household waste.
